Hyttbäcken is an investment company built around entrepreneurship. We were founded in 2020 by
colleagues from Seco Tools and the Sandvik group, and we invest in smaller Swedish companies
where people, products and long-term ownership matter. Our companies are typically entrepreneurled B2B businesses with a physical product at the core and revenues of around SEK 20-100 million.
Today, we own ten companies across manufacturing, distribution, sales and product development.
They operate in different niches, but share a common profile: strong entrepreneurs, close customer
relationships, practical know-how and products that solve real problems for other businesses. In most
cases, the founder or CEO remains a co-owner and continues to lead the company. Our role is to
support long-term development, with decisions made close to the business rather than from a
distance.
We are a small team based in Västerås and Stockholm and work closely with the companies.
Job Description
We are now looking for a hands-on student to join us part-time as an AI Business Developer, helping
us and our companies turn practical AI opportunities into working tools, workflows and improvements.
The advent of capable LLMs has changed the business landscape, and the development continues
week by week. Work that previously required years of expertise and deep domain knowledge can now
be done to ~80% by a competent person working with AI. Processes and tasks that took hours, weeks
or months can be done in a fraction of the time. Working on exactly this is the role.
The key is combining a business mind with practical AI skills. You should be able to understand a
business problem, choose a pragmatic AI-based approach, and turn it into something that works in
day-to-day operations. AI is the tool, in whatever form fits the problem: prompting, scheduled
workflows, lightweight automations or agents. The result matters more than technical sophistication.
You will drive your own projects with support from management. The work will mainly focus on
practical AI use cases in our companies, but may also include related projects depending on your
interest and our priorities, such as:
▪ Implementing AI into business processes (sales, products, admin)
▪ Supporting digital growth projects where AI can improve content, SEO, SEM, analytics,frontend or backend workflows
▪ Supporting screening of potential investment candidates through research, data gathering,
financial analysis and valuation
▪ Market and competitor analysis
We are looking for someone who
▪ Combines commercial instinct with technical ability
▪ Has basic programming fundamentals and is comfortable learning new tools. Python, PHP,
SQL and HTML/CSS are especially relevant to our work, but we care more about your ability
than about a perfect tech stack match
▪ Works comfortably in modern AI and development tools such as Claude Code, VS Code or
similar environments
▪ Takes a task to the finish line without being managed
▪ Is fluent in Swedish and EnglishMerits: things you have built and run yourself, e.g. code, sites, tools.
