SEB is seeking a highly motivated junior research analyst to join our Equity Research team in Stockholm. The role is initially part-time alongside your final year of studies and offers meaningful responsibility from day one, deep exposure to fundamental analysis and hands-on experience within one of the Nordics’ leading and top-ranked research teams. For the right candidate, this position provides a path to building a long-term career in equity research and capital markets at SEB.
The role
You will work closely with senior analysts in the research process from day one, gaining first-hand experience of high-quality equity research and client interaction. You will contribute across the full analytical value chain, including:
• Analysing quarterly reports and market developments and monitoring companies, sectors and macroeconomic trends
• Building and maintaining detailed financial models in Excel, including valuation frameworks, forecasts and scenario analyses
• Contributing to in-depth research reports, earnings previews and post-results comments,
• Preparing for and participating in investor meetings and company visits.
The role requires hard work, curiosity and an ability to translate complex information into clear investment conclusions. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to transition into a long-term analyst position within the team
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who has the ambition to build a career in equity research and that:
• Is in the final year of university studies, preferably within finance, economics or a related field
• Has a genuine interest in equities and a solid understanding of what drives share prices over time
• Has strong Excel skills and is comfortable with financial modelling from day one
• Is analytical, structured and detail-oriented, with the confidence to question assumptions
• Is a strong written communicator, able to express complex reasoning clearly and concisely
• Thrives in a high-performance environment and works efficiently under time pressure
Previous experience in investment banking, corporate finance or equity research is an advantage, but not required. Above all, we value genuine interest, intellectual drive and strong team fit.
